Lighting defines the nocturnal identity of Camana Bay, enhancing the character of the architecture, landscape design, and the overall experience. At dusk, the Town illuminates, basking in magnificent colours inspired by the sunset. Lighting installations were designed specifically for Camana Bay in collaboration with the award-winning firm of L’Observatoire International, whose president was responsible for lighting the Mona Lisa after it was reinstalled in the Louvre in the 1990s. Each is a remarkable creation of artistry, state-of-the-art engineering, and energy efficiency.
More than a hundred lanterns gently sway along the sidewalks and bike paths along Camana Way, projecting patterns of light and shadow. Like many of the Town Centre amenities, the decorative design was inspired by Cayman’s native flora and landscape. Brushed steel shades display Cayman’s iconic Silver Thatch Palm, the Birds of Paradise and Frangipani. Along the walls of the Town Centre, a series of sconces depict an abstract interpretation of shell and marine life in the Cayman Islands. Down The Paseo, intriguing circles of steel in the pavements glow at night to magical effect.|
