Landscape Design

The Town’s living landscaping has always been as important as building architecture to the Camana Bay development team. In the planning stages, these components were conceived to interact seamlessly. The Nursery at Camana Bay was planted a decade before the Town’s groundbreaking to ensure an abundance of mature foliage for courtyards, parks, green spaces, and streets.

All plants, trees and shrubs are native or indigenous to the Cayman Islands. Silver Thatch Palms (Cayman’s national palm), majestic Royal Palms and dark mahogany trees line the streets, providing dappled shade for pedestrians and cyclists. Garden courtyards are filled with the fragrance and colour of Gardenias, Jasmine and other tropical flowers. Elsewhere, green spaces throughout Town offer brilliant examples of Cayman’s tropical climate and attractive areas that welcome gatherings and relaxation.

One of the primary access routes to the Town Centre, Camana Way is a showcase of Cayman’s natural ecosystems. Five of the distinct ecosystems found in Grand Cayman are represented along the boulevard’s lushly landscaped 30-foot-wide median. A field guide can be purchased at Books & Books.
