Camana Bay Children’s Book Festival, 10am-3pm

The second annual Camana Bay Children’s Book Festival will take place over the Thanksgiving weekend kicking off on Saturday from 10am - 2pm at Books and Books with headline authors  Robin Glasser,  illustrator of the hugely popular Fancy Nancy series and Jacqueline Preiss Weitzman who will entertain young readers with her enchanting picture book series You Can’t Take a Balloon into the Metropolitan Museum and You Can’t Take a Balloon into the National Gallery.

The line up of authors on Saturday at Books & Books also includes local writers and traditional storytellers who celebrate the Caymanian cultural heritage of folk stories passed down from generation to generation. Children of all ages can join in the host of activities and crafts on The Paseo including a sing along stage, balloon crafts and a crown making area for little princesses. The festival is held  in partnership with the Cayman Islands Cystic Fibrosis Trust.

The Festival continues on Sunday 29 November at the Dart Family Park where the annual Cystic Fibrosis Bedtime Story Fun Day will take place from 2-5pm. Robin and Jacqueline will be back with more readings from their books, and there are a host of prizes and hundreds of dollars of books to be won at the game stalls. Face painting, a bouncy castle, puppet shows and a barbeque will keep the family entertained all afternoon.
