Dr. Aaron Douyard’s introduction to chiropractic care came incredibly early — just three months into life when a bout of severe colic had him crying non-stop for three days.
“My mother called my aunt, a chiropractor, who came over to assist. With a few gentle adjustments and just holding me against her with her fingertips, within five minutes, I stopped crying,” he said.
That experience planted the seed for a lifelong passion. Inspired by his aunt, he discovered his calling as early as age 5.
“I remember sitting on her lap in her Boston office, reading X-rays. I was always fascinated by the bones, the muscles and how everything connected,” Douyard said.
Fast-forward several decades, and Douyard has become an experienced chiropractor trained in a range of techniques. He specialises in prenatal care, using the Webster Technique to help realign the hips and sacrum for expecting mothers. His unique background includes time as a PGA of America golf professional, giving him insight into swing mechanics and common sports-related issues.
After running a successful practice in the U.S., he sought a deeper connection — and found it in the Cayman Islands.
“I've been visiting here since 2007 with family, and I've always felt at home. When the opportunity at Align came up last summer, everything fell into place. It was like it was meant to be," he said.
Since joining the Align team in February 2025, Douyard has quickly made an impact. Although he had other offers, Align felt like the right fit.
“It just seemed like a great organisation, top to bottom," he said. "I appreciate that they offer a variety of modalities and different types of practitioners all under one roof. It's more convenient for the patient. You don’t have to drive all over the island for care — you can keep everything in-house.”
In just a few months, he’s become an essential part of Align’s Summer Wellness Series — an initiative that brings chiropractic techniques directly to local companies. The programme offers on-site treatments for busy professionals who might not have time to visit a clinic.
“Most office workers really benefit from this," Douyard said. "A lot suffer from neck pain, mid-back pain and shoulder issues. All of these can be addressed effectively with consistent chiropractic care."
Despite being in a new environment, Douyard’s passion remains unchanged.
“It never gets old — that reaction from patients when they get up after their first visit and say, ‘I can already feel the difference.’ It’s an incredible feeling, knowing I helped everyone who walked through that door," he said.
