Taste of Cayman with a side of Black Eyed Peas

The Taste of Cayman food and drink festival has been going for over 35 years now, if you can believe it.

It all started with humble beginnings – a selection of restaurant booths set up on a small patch of land – but over the years it has steadily grown to spread the length and breadth of Festival Green, in Camana Bay. It offers a cornucopia of events within the foodie fair – like a spring roll bursting with mryiad colourful ingredients. There are culinary and mixology competitions and demos; live entertainment; and, of course, endless selections of local cuisine, served up by popular eateries.

Now, in 2024, the experience is being elevated to another level with the addition of a concert on Friday, 12 April, featuring none other than Grammy Award-winning band the Black Eyed Peas.

When you think about it, it’s a match made in heaven. An amazing musical group with the same name as a tasty legume, performing at a food festival. It just makes sense.

Presented by Dart and sponsored by Camana Bay, Taste of Cayman 2024 is excited to bring this additional “entrée” to the proceedings. Executive Director CITA Jay Ehrhart dug deep into his lexicon of Black Eyed Peas song titles to express his delight after the formal announcement was made.

“Let’s Get It Started! The Cayman Islands Tourism Association thought it was The Time to announce a special treat for Taste of Cayman in 2024. Don’t You Worry, we Guarantee this is going to be Simply The Best show. I Gotta Feeling you are going to run out and buy tickets to this event, as you Just Can’t Get Enough.”

- Jay Ehrhart, Executive Director CITA

The Black Eyed Peas concert will be opening the Taste weekend in spectacular fashion, with gates opening at 7 p.m. on the Friday, leading to the main festival on Saturday, 13 April (5-11:30 p.m.). There are tickets available at different price points, including two-day packages and VIP access, if you really want to treat yourself.
