WINNING DESIGNERS

NEW MARKETS, NEW SCHEDULES
The weekly Farmers & Artisans Market along the Paseo has now taken its annual seasonal break, but those looking to buy fresh local produce or arts and crafts can still do so in Camana Bay. The weekly Local Harvest market returned on 4 May and will run through the end of October every Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. under the solar panel array across from Anytime Fitness and Jessie's Juice Bar from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. An artisans market along the Paseo now takes place the first Wednesday of every month from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. through the end of October.
A WALK IN IN THEIR SHOES
There's a slightly new name, but it's the same fun-filled event with a good message for a great cause.
Now in its seventh year, the Cayman Islands Crisis Centre’s annual A Walk in Their Shoes — with "Their" replacing the previous "Her" — will take place on 19 May at 5 p.m. along Market Street in Camana Bay.
Men and women are encouraged to participate by wearing a pair of women's shoes to get a better understanding of what it is like to "walk in their shoes," all while raising awareness about domestic violence.
A Walk in Their Shoes is an important fundraising event for the Cayman Islands Crisis Centre. In addition to the CI$25 entry fee per person, the male participants were asked to solicit sponsorship donations for walking the five laps up and down Market Street. The funds raised with the event, which is sponsored by Provenance Properties Cayman Islands, provide support for local victims of domestic violence, regardless of age, gender, race, ethnicity, economic status or sexual orientation.

ONLINE CHARITY AUCTION RETURNS
Provenance Properties, the exclusive affiliate of Christie’s International Real Estate in the Cayman Islands, will host the third annual online auction of art and luxury home goods on 26 May from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
The event raises funds for Cayman's Acts of Random Kindness, a nonprofit organisation that has the goal of improving the lives of Cayman's least privileged residents.
Inspired by the auctions held by Christie’s, the oldest art auction house in the world, participants can bid on a wide variety of donated items, including works by Cayman artists, staycations, gift certificates for local services and experiences, luxury home goods and previously loved designer fashions. One of the auction items this year is a four-night stay at the luxurious seven-bedroom "Evolution" villa in Bodden Town, pictured above. Bidders can pre-register at auction.caymanecommerce.com or donate new or pre-loved items by emailing photos and details to auction2022@arkcayman.com.
A PIZZA PARTY FOR DOGS
In observance of National Rescue Dog Day, The Brooklyn Pizza + Pasta will host a pizza party on 20 May from 4 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. The event is being presented by One Dog at a Time, a registered non-profit organisation that promotes the fostering of puppies and older dogs rescued from the streets and from the Department of Agriculture pound. Many puppies and dogs will be on hand and available for adoption at the pizza party. A 50-50 raffle will also be held to help raise funds for the organisation. PASSPORT FOR KIDS
Kids can discover — or rediscover — Camana Bay with fun adventures found in the "Passport to Camana Bay" booklet. Take your little ones for an exploration and learn fun facts about the Town Centre as you go. Pick up a free copy of the 2022 booklet at the Camana Bay Visitor Centre on Market Street starting 23 May and then return the completed passport there for a free kid’s gelato voucher from Gelato & Co. The Camana Bay Visitor Centre is open from Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
SUMMER SPORT CAMP RETURNS
The Camana Bay Multi Sport Camp will return for its 12th year in July. Open to children ages 6 to 14 of all athletic abilities, the camp will keep kids active and help to improve their sporting skills while having fun. Campers will enjoy a variety of sports such as volleyball, football, basketball, swimming, tennis and more. The camps all run from Monday through Friday, except the first one, which starts Tuesday 5 July, the day after the Constitution Day public holiday. FATHER'S DAY AT CAMANA BAY
Father's Day is 19 June and those looking for gift or experience ideas to help make Dad’s special day memorable just need to follow Camana Bay's Instagram and Facebook pages closer to the date. By doing so, you'll also learn how to enter to win a gift pack for Dad worth up to CI$200. Details about how to enter will be available on Camana Bay’s social media pages in June.
A DASH FOR DIAMONDS
On 12 April, 43 teams of two participants made a frantic dash to win a US$5,000 diamond shopping spree from Island Jewellers. The adult-only scavenger hunt contest, which was part of Island Company's Diamond Month celebrations, required teams to search around the Camana Bay Town Centre for clues to complete a challenge within the one-hour time limit. In the end, the team of Angela Pretorius and Johannes Nel won the grand prize, while the other teams who completed the challenge were treated to a Perrier-Jouet Champagne happy hour at West Indies Wine Company immediately afterwards. The event also had a charity element, with US$2,300 being raised for the Rotary Club of Grand Cayman.
