The magic of Christmas begins with giving, and this holiday season, Camana Bay is helping to brighten Christmas for local families with the Camana Bay Christmas Give.
The Christmas Give is an initiative that began eight years ago as a way for the community to get involved and support various organisations through a variety of activities. This year, Camana Bay has added a few new ways to get involved, with all funds being donated to the Cayman Food Bank, an organisation committed to bringing a solution to hunger.
The easiest way to get involved is by bringing canned and non-perishable food items to the Visitor Centre in Camana Bay by Friday, 22 December. The Cayman Food Bank will distribute the food to local families in need.
For a fun and new way to give back, you can also purchase limited-edition Caymankind Christmas cards with fun sayings such as “Be more festive than Santa playing dominoes with Rudolph” and “Be more festive than two ching chings fighting over a fruit cake.” Purchase a pack of five cards for CI$12 in the Camana Bay Visitor Centre.
The Santa Run is also back this year and happening on Sunday, 16 December starting at 6:30 a.m. Join the parade of Santas for a jolly jog around Camana Bay for some festive family-friendly fun while also supporting a good cause and getting active! Register at the Camana Bay Visitor Centre; costumes and festive accessories are encouraged.
Next time you head to Camana Bay Cinema, bring your spare change and race it down the cascading coin stand located in lobby of the cinema.
If you are trying to figure out which Christmas Give initiative best suits you, take Camana Bay’s latest quiz via their blog, titled What’s Your Philanthropic Giving Style This Christmas Season? Whichever way you choose to give, you will definitely help brighten someone’s holiday season.
