Children and their parents are counting down the days to summer, when school’s out and time is available for a host of new and exciting activities.

That could mean family-friendly films at the cinema, splashing around in fountains or in the pool or just finding some open space to play.

At Camana Bay there are also some scheduled camps that will appeal to the musically inclined or the sports lovers, guaranteed to ensure they make the most of their summer.

Cayman Music School
Does your child love the idea of getting up in front of the microphone and singing to an audience? Or perhaps they prefer to be jamming on a drum kit, beating out a funky rhythm. Cayman Music School will encourage creativity through days of music appreciation, karaoke, studio time, drum circles and field trips, with some dance, art, yoga and musical theatre mixed in. After all, this is the school that recently put on the sold-out production of "Moana Jr."

Beginners are welcome, while advanced musicians can learn songs by their favourite bands, master a new instrument or even play in a rock group.

Inna Kazakova, who – along with her husband Andre – runs the school, is passionate about teaching the students the joys of music.

“We love our work and when we see our students on stage, confident and so happy to be performing, there’s no better reward.”

They’ll get to interact with each other as a team, and even have the chance to meet and train with a special guest from the National Basketball Association. High-level instruction is the gift that will keep on giving, as they can take what they are taught into the next school year.

Note: 12-year-old registrants can opt for the morning or afternoon session, based on their confidence level and overall skill.
