Students bring colour, art to the ARC

Students painting mural on wall

The quest to bring colour and art to Camana Bay and its surroundings continues at Cayman International School. Dart Visual Designer Keri Lawrence and Junior Visual Designer Gabrielle Scott joined forces with CIS middle and high school art club students to beautify one of the Arts & Recreation Centre walls with a stunning mural themed, “Abstract Cayman."

The theme further extends to an "above and below" concept featuring items native to Cayman both on land and underwater. The students developed the subject matter and basis for the mural in abstract form. The mural pictured here features everything from mangroves, conch shells and turtles to coral, palms, iguanas, the coat of arms and more. Set to be formally revealed in early December, this mural will be the second collaboration between Dart and CIS students this year. The first creation is a mural on the underpasses that connects the east and west sides of Cayman Parkway on the Esterley Tibbetts Highway.
